CardMeeting's making a splash!

Dear CardMeeting users,

... well, splash screen, that is! :) Nyuk nyuk!

I've been experimenting with blocking off the canvas during the meeting load with a nifty CardMeeting logo splash screen replete with boxy little progress meter! I'm pretty happy with how that works, although I'm not certain it's quite accurate yet, still have some tweaking of floating point numbers to do.

This build I've put up also includes some stability enhancements as well as some error checking code on the Web Services side of the house. Apparently, the SOAP web service was returning some non-Unicode characters to a caller and as a result he couldn't access his meeting data that way. Indeed, unless I filter invalid characters (which are perfectly valid in Java), XML Parse Exceptions are thrown on the caller's side of the transaction.

I'm sure there are more goodies in this build that I forgot about. Since the wedding I've been a bit scatterbrained, but I'm starting to come to my senses. Hopefully we'll get a couple of months of nice releases here coming up.

Well, that's it! Happy CardMeetings to all, and to all a good night.

Cheers,
Dave Woldrich
